The Windows Project, in conjunction with Pedro Ruiz, offers choreography and dance services to professional dance companies throughout the world, as well as to professional student programs, schools and universities. From workshops and master classes to full productions, Mr. Ruiz has worked with The Joffrey Ballet, Alvin Ailey, New Jersey Ballet, Luna Negra, Dance Theatre of Harlem and Ballet Hispanico, to name a few.
His award-winning work has been showcased throughout Europe, as well as in North and South America. Mr. Ruiz has performed at the White House before several presidents and, in 1998, was the recipient of the NYC dance community’s highest honor, A Bessie Award.
His most recent collaborations have been with dance companies from Cuba, including Danza Contemporanea de Cuba and Danza Del Alma, resulting in the works, “Horizonte” and “El Camino” respectively. The former was premiered in Havana and then presented in a four-city tour of the US in 2010, the first time a Cuban-American artist would return to his homeland and set a work on a national company and have that same work appear within the United States.
